“Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy and sustainable human development.”

We're leveraging technology and the power of community, providing students in need access to accredited, standards-based curriculum and world class instruction with an emphasis on producing university graduates who will become champions in the fight for global sustainability!

We can change the rules...

Sustainable cities begin with education. Access is the key.  The argument here is that educational opportunity can lead to radical change in the life of a child, a family, a community, a city and our world. Childhood should have choices. Childhood should be celebrated.

What "green" means to us…

In education it means many things. It means accessibility and social mobility. It means equality of opportunity. It means we have the chance to change lives.

Our vision is simple. Sustainability is about people. Sustainability is about imagination. Sustainability is about action. Education involves all of these. Urban sustainability begins with education.

At the center of everything we do at The Urban Green Education Project is the belief education is a human right and school is a sacred place where love, rigor and guidance combine to allow the child to blossom.

The guiding theme of our project rests on the concepts of sustainability, what the United Nations and defines as “the process of improving the quality of human life while living within the carrying capacity of supporting eco-systems.”
With this as our “North Star” we strive to create programs and learning spaces where students can grow and gain a thirst for knowledge, an innate commitment to honesty, a genuine respect for the rights, well being and dignity of others, and an intense interest to explore the wonders of our world.
